Position Summary
Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) Foundation’s Development Team is growing. RVH Foundation is driving transformational change in Simcoe-Muskoka, advancing health care through bold vision and community partnership. The Keep Life Wild campaign is our call to action- uniting donors, volunteers, and community leaders to invest in priorities that will shape the future of care for our region. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Ontario’s busiest and most advanced regional health centres. RVH is home to specialized regional programs in cancer, cardiac, stroke, and mental health, delivering world-class care close to home.
As a Donor Advisor, you will play a key role in raising the funds that make this vision possible. A strong contributor to the success of the $100M campaign, you will manage and grow a portfolio of 100+ major gift prospects and donors with annual fundraising targets exceeding $1million. Through disciplined portfolio management, strategic donor engagement, and authentic relationship building, you will develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies that connect philanthropists with meaningful giving opportunities. Working closely with the Manager, Donor Advising, volunteers and RVH clinical and leadership teams, you will help ensure every donor experience is thoughtful, personalized and impactful. Supported by a collaborative and high-performing team, you will bring curiosity, accountability, and a passion for philanthropy- helping turn generosity into tangible impact for patients and families across our region.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Fundraising
- Develop and execute individualized strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of corporate, foundation, and individual donors across all stages of the development cycle
- Coordinate and implement prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies, including meeting and tour arrangements and proposal development
Donor Experience and Engagement
- Provide exceptional support and collaborate with volunteers on prospect research, call activity, and participation in Cabinet meetings and events
- Cultivate relationships with physicians and RVH staff to support proposal development, enhance donor experiences, and identify grateful patient prospects
- Collaborate with the Donor Experience team to plan and deliver meaningful stewardship and recognition activities
Campaign & Organizational Alignment
- Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of the Keep Life Wild case for support
- Actively contribute to Development Team meetings, prospect clearance discussions, budget development, and forecasting
Operations & Systems Excellence
- Vigorously maintain timely and accurate records of donor interactions in Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Effectively use Foundation systems and processes to support an exceptional donor experience
- Follow all policies and procedures related to role responsibilities
Professional Contribution & Culture
- Participate in Foundation and donor events, including evenings and weekends as required
- Actively engage in professional development, identifying opportunities for growth and learning
- Adhere to the AFP Code of Ethics, live RVH values, and contribute positively to team culture
Experience
- 2–3 years of direct experience in major gift fundraising within a hospital foundation or similarly complex organization
- Demonstrated success in closing major gifts, with a strong understanding of the full fundraising cycle, including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of 100+ prospects across all stages of the gift cycle, with typical giving capacity ranging from $10K to $1M+
- Strong interpersonal skills with professional presence, approaching relationships with empathy, authenticity, and gratitude
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, effectively coordinating with colleagues, volunteers, and clinical partners to advance fundraising outcomes
- Strategic and analytical thinker, with the ability to assess opportunities, make sound decisions, and solve complex problems
- Self-directed and proactive, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and ownership in advancing work independently
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities while maintaining consistent progress
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and donor-centric materials in plain language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with experience using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT considered an asset
- Maintains strong organizational systems and attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and follow-through in all work
Requirements
- University degree, college diploma/certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Commitment to life-long learning; CFRE designation encouraged
- Adheres to Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all relevant regulations
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to dependable transportation with frequent travel to Muskoka and throughout Simcoe County to be expected
