Description
The Development Manager supports and advances the philanthropic mission of New England Deaconess Abundant Life Communities by overseeing fundraising operations, donor engagement initiatives, community events, and development communications. This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults.
- Manage and oversee the annual Fall Appeal, Corporate Appeal, and Annual Report processes, including the development of print and digital materials, campaign execution, donor outreach, and follow-up communications.
- Direct daily operations of the Development Department, including donor database management, gift processing, acknowledgment letters, and maintenance of development materials.
- Foster meaningful relationships with residents, donors, families, and community constituents to ensure an inclusive and welcoming community experience.
Serve as an active administrator of the resident scholarship program, supporting program coordination and engagement efforts. - Plan, coordinate, and oversee donor cultivation events and community engagement activities.
Act as a representative and backup for the Director of Development at management meetings, orientations, and resident visits, as needed. - Develop and monitor performance metrics to support continuous evaluation of fundraising and development initiatives, including preparation of quarterly reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Support additional development and organizational projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve effectively, and remain flexible when priorities shift.
- Genuine passion for positively impacting the lives of older adults and supporting community-centered initiatives.
- This position is eligible for a year-end incentive bonus based on established performance metrics and goals.
