Loveworks Leadership exists to serve overlooked and underestimated middle school students by developing leaders of character and competence to live purposeful, productive lives. As we grow into our new downtown space, we’re seeking a personable, proactive, and detail-oriented Community Relations Manager who enjoys connecting with people, building genuine relationships, and engaging others in meaningful work. This role will help grow our donor community, strengthen partnerships, and advance the impact of our mission.
About the Role
The Community Relations Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of Loveworks Leadership by ensuring excellence in fundraising operations, donor engagement, events, and administrative systems. This position blends strategy and execution, helping build the infrastructure that supports both daily programming and long-term growth.
This is a highly relational and detail-oriented role, ideal for someone who thrives on building meaningful connections and bringing ideas to life through strong execution. The right candidate will be both proactive and dependable, with a desire to contribute to a mission-driven team and invest in the development of middle school students.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
3-5 years of nonprofit experience or relevant experience
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and systems thinking
Excellent written and interpersonal communication
Team-first mindset and willingness to grow
Event/fundraising experience
Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising Support
Enter donations and manage donor CRM/database
Ensure maintenance of the database of potential, current, and past donors.
Lead donor recognition and gratitude processes
Lead capital campaign efforts
Cultivate and nurture relationships with current, past, and potential donors.
Support grants, reporting, and grant calendar maintenance
Plan and execute fundraising events
Equip and support staff for fundraising and marketing efforts.
Cultivate major gifts.
Ensure donor communication systems.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners.
Establish in-kind community partnerships that directly benefit the annual budget.
Develop the Advocacy Board with fundraising initiatives
Program & Volunteer Support
Assist with volunteer recruitment and communication
Lead and work with volunteers to carry out service projects and events
Participate as a mentoring presence during after-school programming as needed
Facility Oversight
Coordinate facility use and scheduling
Liaise with vendors and service providers
Help develop systems for future venue rentals and building operations
Ensure a high-quality venue rental experience for customers
Special Projects
Support organizational improvements and one-time projects
Collaborate with other staff as needs arise
Administration & Financial Management
Support with check deposits, petty cash, and financial systems
Provide support for organizational communication
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, or related field
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and systems thinking
Excellent written and interpersonal communication
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Must be reliable, proactive, and solutions-oriented
Must be able to assist with event or facility setup, including moving tables, lifting bins, or standing for extended periods during events
Believes in the mission of Loveworks and demonstrates a heart for youth development
Preferred Qualifications:
High level of discretion and professionalism, especially when handling financial or donor information
Event/fundraising experience
Experience with donor management platforms
Experience in event planning or volunteer coordination
Experience working in youth-focused or mission-driven organizations
A relational, servant leader
Works well under pressure and can manage changing priorities gracefully
Approaches work with enthusiasm, initiative, and follow-through
Work Schedule
45+ hours
Full-time weekly, weekends occasionally
Evaluation/Review Structure
In-depth review yearly with the Executive Director, touch base review at the halfway point in the year
