Assistant Director of Development
At WUSF Public Media, our mission is to enrich the mind and inspire curiosity through trusted journalism, classical music, and cultural programming. To help advance that mission, we’re growing our fundraising team and seeking two Assistant Directors of Development to join us.
Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Development, these roles will work closely together to advance our Leadership Annual Giving programs, engaging donors who are deeply committed to public media and its impact in our region. We’re especially excited to connect with highenergy fundraisers who love public radio and thrive on building meaningful donor relationships.
The Opportunities
Both positions are handson fundraising roles and offer the chance to make a real impact. While the job descriptions are aligned, the focus of each role will differ slightly:
One position will take a lead role in managing and advancing WUSF’s Leadership Giving programs, including donor engagement strategies and some direct solicitation.
The second position will focus primarily on frontline fundraising—meeting with donors, managing relationships, and connecting supporters directly to WUSF’s public service mission.
Together, these roles are essential to strengthening the philanthropic partnerships that sustain WUSF and Classical WSMR.

Requirements
This position requires Bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to development or other appropriate professional experience. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
