Company Overview
Verge Center for the Arts is the leading cultural institution in the Sacramento region for contemporary art and ideas. Our mission is to extend the dialogue about contemporary art to the Central Valley. Company History
Located in Sacramento’s Southside Park neighborhood, Verge’s building currently maintains 32 artist studios, an expansive gallery space, large classroom, a Risograph printing space, and a fine art printmaking facility. Verge has created an art center model that offers a combination of resources to serve artistic professionals and the public. Verge is committed to offering contemporary art programming and art resources to the Sacramento region through a combination of exhibitions, low or no cost artist workspace, and educational programming
Founded in 2010, Verge purchased the building on S Street in 2012. In 2014 Verge opened its current location with an exhibition space, artist studios, and classroom, and in 2014 merged with the Center for Contemporary Art Sacramento (CCAS), a regional institution with a 25-year history in Sacramento. In 2023, Verge was awarded a grant from the California Natural Resources Agency to make upgrades to the building, create a dedicated wheel room for ceramics, and build five brand new artist studios.
