Company Overview
The Center for Family Life is committed to year-
round employment programming for youth as it
relates to work preparation, career development,
and school-to-work activities. Programs have
included the Summer Youth Employment Program
(SYEP), School-to-Work (STW), and Youth-to-Work,
a school-year employment program.
Company History
The Center for Family Life (CFL) was founded in
1978 with the goal of meeting the needs of
families in the stressed community of Sunset
Park, Brooklyn. The Center embraces a holistic
approach to providing services without labeling,
and individualizes each situation to address the
needs of all family members. The Center focuses
on the family as a sustaining source of
development for children and youth, and the
Sunset Park community as a support for the
neighborhood's families.
The parent agency and sponsor of CFL is St.
Christopher Ottilie Children's Services. St.
Christopher Ottilie carries a strong reputation
among city and state officials as well as
accreditation bodies. The agency helps nearly
5,000 families, children and individuals with
special needs throughout Metropolitan NYC and
Long Island.
