Company Overview
Mercy Home for Boys and Girls is a residential facility focusing on providing therapeutic services for troubled kids and their families so they may heal and grow towards a healthy and productive future. Currently we have 90 youth living on our residential home and 85 kids participating in our mentoring program (Friends First). We provide focus, direction, hope and therapeutic services to troubled youth between the ages of 11 and 20. Our children come to us from various referral sources, including schools, churches, donors, DCFS and friends of Mercy Home and the children themselves. Members of our staff play an important role for our residents as members of a milieu therapy treatment team. In summer of 2003, Mercy Home will open 3 additional programs to provide residential services for 25 more youth.
Mercy Home, while affiliated with the Archdiocese of Chicago, is 97% self funded. Our generous donors make it possible for Mercy to provide a nurturing home, healing for families, the means for growth and God’s mercy in action for our kids. In our 115- year existence, Mercy Home has served over 20,000 youth.
