ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: The Immigration Services Program coordinates the immigration work of the LIRS. It provides technical immigration back-up to LIRS' network of 26 affiliates, assists affiliates in gaining recognititon from the Board of Immigration Appeals, comments on proposed immigration related regulations, writes legal memoranda analyzing new legislation, regulations, and policy, conducts workshops on immigration and naturalization law, networks with other voluntary agencies, and provides counseling to a small number of clients on immigration matters.
