About the Holter Museum of Art
The Holter Museum of Art is a regional contemporary art museum founded in 1987. The Museum has a budget of $750,000 with a staff of eleven employees (three full-time and eight part-time). The 17,000 square-foot facility houses four exhibition galleries, a permanent collection vault, a collection research and study area, an education center with two classrooms and a library, and a museum shop and sales gallery.

At its core, the Holter Museum seeks to inspire and celebrate creativity, diversity, collaboration, community, and exploration. The Holter Museum’s mission is to cultivate creativity, curiosity, and collaboration through the visual arts.

In fulfilling its mission, the Holter Museum serves Montana and neighboring states by collecting significant contemporary art of the Northwest and presenting visual arts exhibitions of all media by regional, national, and international artists. To make the arts accessible to all, the Holter Museum promotes participation by diverse audiences through outreach, innovative educational programming, and collaboration with other organizations.
