We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our leadership team and help drive our financial strategy in support of our mission.
Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. The CFO will also oversee budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in ensuring the organization remains financially sustainable while maximizing the impact of our program and services.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and long-term goals
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, including the development of financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, Executive Leaders, and Operational Leaders
Risk Management: Identify and manage risk management financial risks to the organization, including maintaining adequate insurance coverage and managing investments
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, as well as nonprofit and hospital industry standards
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Grant Management: Oversee the financial management of grants, including reporting and compliance with donor requirements
Audit: Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and Board Finance and Audit Committee
Financial Systems: Oversees the implementation and maintenance of financial management systems and tools.
What we’re looking for:
Education:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or related field required.
CPA or CMA required
Experience:Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant senior financial management and leadership experience preferably in a
Non-profit organization of similar or greater scope is preferred.
Healthcare experience a plus!
Skills:Strong financial acumen and understanding of nonprofit accounting principles
Proficient in financial management software
Excellent leadership communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive financial expertise with technical skills in budgetary management, and financial and strategic planning for financial and administrative functions of a large nonprofit organization, or other complex industry position with a demonstrated ability to manage and evaluate organization-wide initiatives and to accurately compile reports, budgets, and execute projects.
Ability to read and interpret IRS rules, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) technical literature, and Financial Accounting Standards Boards (FASB) interpretations.
Ability to develop strategy that incorporates a concise definition of goals, targeted audiences, and is in line with organizational priorities.
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance practices and risk mitigation frameworks.
Ability to provide vision for the communications of the organization deliver presentations to internal and external audiences and stakeholders including the board of directors.
Knowledge of financial reporting, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization.
Expert level knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to a wide array of youth services programs, mental health facilities, and health care.
Ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Ability to collaborate between departments, communicate and optimize strategy, and to align strategies to achieve the mission.
Demonstrated integrity, positive attitude, business ethics, mission-driven, and self-directed with a passion for the organization.
Ability to motivate and develop leaders across all areas of responsibility.
Strong conflict management skills to align all facets of the organization to serve the mission and to deal with difficult problems and challenges.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA or CMA required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting required.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience required.
Available to travel as needed and maintain on-call status required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree preferred.
Non-profit organization experience preferred.
