The Rogosin Institute (RI) is a non-profit medical care and research organization affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. Rogosin is one of the premier centers for the diagnosis and management of kidney disease in the country. The Institute also treats patients with diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders and conducts research in these areas. RI is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Finance with strong organizational and management skills.
The Assistant Director of Finance supports the overall financial leadership and operations of the organization.
Assisting in managing and overseeing the general accounting department, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, payroll and revenue cycle functions to ensure the organization’s financial health and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Partners with clinical and operational leaders to provide meaningful financial insights that guide operational and strategic decisions.
Provide work direction and on the job training to staff, evaluate staff performance, interview prospective employees and recommend personnel actions for staff.
Maintain effective communication with department heads, staff, and Corporate leadership to ensure effective operations.
Act as a consultant to departments that request Finance assistance.
Formulate specific goals for the department, institute procedures to achieve goals and monitor goals on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent, CPA preferred
Seven to ten year’s job-related experience with five years supervisory experience, ideally within healthcare
Strong understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial principles
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly
Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to exercise significant level of discretion in making decisions and recommendation
