Nature's Classroom Atop Lookout Mountain is looking for Outdoor Education Teachers for our Spring 2026 season.
We are an ACA and AEE accredited outdoor education program serving primarily 3rd-7th grade students who attend with their school for custom programs lasting 1-5 days
General Responsibilities:
Lead educational hikes
Teach hands-on classes from our existing curriculum
Facilitate team building activities including low ropes
Guide large group and evening activities
Occasionally help with specialty activities, such as: archery, canoeing, climbing tower, and the high ropes course
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Must be 21 yrs or older
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Certified in CPR/ First Aid (or willing to get certified)
Willing to work 13 hour days
Ability to walk/ hike 1- 5 miles per day
Ability to work as a part of a team
Experience working with children
Undergo a criminal background check
Accommodations:
Seasonal housing (as housing is shared animals are not allowed, including emotional support animals)
2 weeks paid training
Food is provided during training and when participants are on site.
Other benefits include a location near excellent caving, climbing, mountain biking, hiking, whitewater paddling, and multiple state and national parks

Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $85-95 per day for the Fall 2026 semester with housing and utilities provided. Food provided on program days and training.
In-service training/orientation pays $300 at the end of the 10 days of training and $300 at completion of the contract.
Schedule: Varies according to number of program days booked.
