Senior Accountant – Full time

Reports to:  Controller

The position is primarily responsible for providing support and assistance to the Controller in all areas of accounting, including oversight of daily accounting activities. 

Summary of responsibilities:

1.      Assist with the billing service activities, as well as, follow-up with collection activity. 

2.      Assist with payroll process, including payment of payroll taxes and filing related payroll tax reports.

3.      Assist with the preparation and processing of the weekly disbursements.

4.      Maintain salary records and oversee employee benefits, to include payment and timely reporting.

5.      Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare bank account reconciliations.

6.      Prepare journal entries and assist with the monthly closing of the general ledger.

7.      Assume custodial responsibilities for insurance available to transplant professionals and living kidney donors.

8.      Assist with the preparation of financial information, including reporting and making presentations at board meetings.

9.      Assist with timely filing of required tax payments and filings.

10.  Assist with making monthly payments to Employees’ Retirement System and with year-end preparation of 5500 Report.

11.  Provide support and assist with the annual audit, including the preparation of required schedules.

12.  Assist with funding to employee’s retirement and preparation of annual compliance and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

1.      Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

2.      At least 5 years of working experience in the areas of accounting.

3.      Have a strong background in all areas of accounting.

4.      Proficiency on Office Software, particularly Excel and Word.

5.      Working knowledge of automated accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamic experience a plus.

6.      Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

7.      Prior experience with Non-Profit a plus.

8.      Attention to detail and hands-on approach.

9.      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
