Location: Phoenix, Arizona; currently AZ Impact for Good operates in a hybrid work environment.
Travel: Required periodically, depending on location of in-person events throughout the state
Hours: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Monday-Friday with flexible hours within a normal workday timeframe (6am-6pm for example).
Reports To: Director of Programs & Learning
Supervises: This position does not have any direct reports.
Salary: $60,000-65,000 per year; benefits include employer-paid health insurance, tele-doc, vision, dental, life, AD&D and short-term and long-term disability; 401k with employer match; work-from-home stipend; unlimited PTO policy; paid holidays; and flexible work schedule.
Position Summary
The Program & Event Manager is responsible for connecting nonprofit and grantmaking members across Arizona with quality programs and resources to help build their capacity. This position will be responsible for the planning, execution, and follow-up of programs and events. This individual is a skilled facilitator, speaker and communicator, and ensures the organization is well represented and members are engaged and satisfied with the programming provided. This individual is constantly learning and staying up to speed on the latest developments within the sectors we serve and ensuring programming is designed to meet the needs of the members and advance the sector forward.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the planning, delivery and follow up activities of various signature programs such as Nonprofit Lifecycles, Board Governance, Finance Navigator, and others.
- Responsible for coordinating the development and execution of in-person and virtual events and programs, including educational workshops and member-related events.
- Adds content to the learning management system and communicates content/courses to members in partnership with the marketing team.
- Works in coordination with the membership, marketing, advocacy and philanthropy departments as needed for promotion, collaboration on programs, and other needed coordination on communication.
- Assists with the planning, delivery and follow up activities of peer group programming and convenings, including grantmaker specific programs and joint programs.
- Assists with development of timely and relevant ideas for new peer groups and tailors programming based on groups’ needs.
- Partners with Membership team to promote and connect members into peer groups and other programming as appropriate.
- Collaborates with the Director of Programs & Learning to support the Arizona Gives (year-round) and Arizona Gives Day (annually) program.
- Coordinates and communicates with Arizona Gives technology and donation platform partners to ensure maximum effectiveness, usability, and functionality.
- Works directly with nonprofit participants to onboard to the AZ Gives platform, renew/update profiles each year, and provide technical assistance and training throughout the year.
- Provides content and programmatic updates to Marketing team to ensure timely and relevant information is shared with participants, donors, and supporters year-round.
- Determines event site locations and supports events with coordinating catering needs, registration materials, and day-of check-in and onsite event logistics.
- Coordinates with the Director of Programs & Learning to lead the logistical and educational aspects of the annual conference.
- Communicates and coordinates with speakers prior to and during events.
- Assists members and potential members with event registrations and payments.
- Responsible for all event-related post-communication including surveys, registration lists, etc.
- Remains knowledgeable regarding current issues/trends affecting the community and nonprofit and grantmaking organizations to support development of new programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience with MS Office Suite, database management software and videoconference tools
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to coordinate numerous projects with minimal guidance

Physical Requirements
The person in this position will occasionally lift or move objects of moderate weight (i.e., boxes of printed materials, supplies or meeting tables) and assorted items needed for meeting set-up (i.e., conference telephone, catering, video camera). The person must be able to frequently operate a computer and remain in a stationary position. A valid Arizona driver’s license is required. This position may require working beyond regular hours as required for event planning and delivery.
