Minnesota Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (MN FCCLA), a dynamic student-led organization serving more than 4,000 members in grades 6–12, seeks an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead its statewide efforts. Focused on leadership, personal growth, and career preparation through Family and Consumer Sciences education, MN FCCLA empowers students through community engagement, competitive events, and career exploration.
The Executive Director serves as the organization’s chief leader, responsible for advancing MN FCCLA’s mission through strategic planning, program development, and organizational management. This role oversees youth leadership programs, statewide events such as conferences and competitions, and partnerships with educators, businesses, and community organizations. The Executive Director also manages daily operations, including staff oversight, financial stewardship, nonprofit compliance, and communications.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Board of Directors to guide strategy and governance, developing and implementing impactful student programming, supporting student leaders and advisors, and serving as the organization’s primary spokesperson. The role also leads fundraising efforts, including grants and sponsorships, and ensures the long-term financial health of the organization.
Ideal candidates bring at least five years of nonprofit management experience, strong leadership and financial management skills, and a deep commitment to youth development. A background in Family and Consumer Sciences education and experience working with boards and student leaders are highly preferred.

Requirements
The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to the FCCLA mission and youth leadership. All candidates should have proven leadership and management skills and experience leading a non-profit organization.
Advanced degree with at least 5 years of management experience.
Unwavering commitment to quality programming for youth and chapter advisors.
Excellence in organizational management and financial management, youth leadership development, background in family and consumer sciences education.
Past success in working with a board of directors and youth leaders.
Strongly preferred teaching experience with education licensure for Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Demonstrated expertise in student leadership development, workshop facilitation, and event management.
Strong leadership, marketing (including social media), and partnership development experience.
Ability to connect and work with multiple audiences, ages, and education systems (members, advisors, and alumni), with the flexibility to pivot strategies based on individual needs.
Ability to build rapport and sense of belonging for a diverse student population.
Ability to work under pressure of deadlines, a non-profit budget, and staffing.
