POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Advancement Services serves as the information systems manager for the Office of Institutional Advancement that manages resources supporting all university fundraising and partnerships. The Senior Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership including long- and short-term planning in the areas of gift processing, database integrity, reporting, data analysis and system enhancements.
- Coordinate with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement to develop and execute the annual planned giving communication plan, including newsletters, webinars, and donor education efforts. Oversee timelines, content flow, and delivery to ensure consistent, missionaligned outreach to planned giving prospects.
- Oversee and assist in the processing and acknowledgment of gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching claims, and other contributions to the university from private funding sources.
Lead the adoption and implementation and continued improvement of a new CRM system. - Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement Events Coordinator and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to manage the Gala. Overseeing week-of and day-of event operations to ensure seamless delivery and support post-event follow-up, including donor stewardship and auction fulfillment.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Advancement Services staff; Development & Events Manager and Database Manager.
- Increase efficiency and capacity of fundraising and constituent relations by developing data management practices that align with business practices.
Conduct and oversee prospect research and management efforts to build a pipeline of campaign support and to ensure that donors and prospects are appropriately moved through the development cycle. - Provide recurring and one-time reports for fundraising programs such as but not limited to BOT fundraising reports, departmental monthly endowment reports, alumni engagement reports, constituent interactions such as direct mail, phone calls, emails.
- Oversee our data management policies/procedures and a well-documented training process for departmental staff.
- Custodian of all Marylhurst University student transcript requests and education verification.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in advancement services, with experience in a higher education setting preferred.
- Experience working with relational databases is a necessity.
- Event planning experience.
- Advanced proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (especially Excel and Word), in a networked Windows-based environment.
- Scrupulous accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to exercise sound independent judgment, following established protocols and procedures.
