About the Role
YWCA Missoula is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Officer to lead our major and principal gifts program. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, building strong relationships, and securing transformational gifts that support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and families in crisis.
The Senior Philanthropy Officer works closely with the Development Director, Executive Director, and Board to advance fundraising strategy and deepen donor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of major and principal gift donors
Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity philanthropic relationships
Develop individualized donor engagement and solicitation strategies
Partner with leadership and board members on donor strategy and outreach
Represent YWCA Missoula at donor meetings, events, and community engagements
Support signature fundraising events and donor cultivation experiences
Preferred
Experience working with boards and volunteer fundraisers
Background in nonprofit human services or advocacy organizations
Requirements
Qualifications
5+ years of successful major gifts or capital campaign fundraising experience
Demonstrated success securing significant philanthropic gifts
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage a donor portfolio
Commitment to YWCA’s mission and values
Preferred
Experience working with boards and volunteer fundraisers
Background in nonprofit human services or advocacy organizations
