- Member Development Specialist
Description
The Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA) is seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-focused professional to serve as the Member Development Specialist. This entry-level role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with CPA firms, employers, and accounting professionals across Oklahoma while supporting membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts.
The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, building trust, and helping professionals get the most value from their membership. This individual will serve as a visible representative of OSCPA, spending time visiting firms, attending events, communicating with members, and fostering meaningful relationships throughout the accounting community.
This position plays an important role in strengthening the profession by helping current and prospective members stay connected to the resources, education, advocacy, and community that OSCPA provides.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Recruitment and Retention
- Build and maintain relationships with CPA firms, employers, and accounting professionals throughout Oklahoma
- Conduct firm visits and outreach efforts to promote the value of OSCPA membership
- Support membership recruitment initiatives and identify opportunities to expand membership within firms and organizations
- Develop relationships with firm leaders, HR contacts, and key stakeholders
- Communicate regularly with members and prospective members regarding OSCPA programs, benefits, and opportunities
- Support membership renewal efforts and encourage ongoing engagement
Member Outreach and Relationship Building
- Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable ambassador for OSCPA
- Attend networking events, firm meetings, conferences, and other member functions
- Connect members with relevant programs, services, and volunteer opportunities
- Gather member feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the member experience
- Foster strong relationships that support long-term member engagement and retention
Chapter Support
- Serve as a primary staff contact for OSCPA chapters across the state
- Support chapter leaders and volunteers in their local outreach and engagement efforts
- Assist with communication and relationship-building initiatives within chapters
- Share chapter feedback and opportunities with the OSCPA team
Collaboration
- Work closely with membership, communication, and education teams to support membership goals
- Assist with membership campaigns, communications, and outreach initiatives
- Share insights from member interactions to help improve programs and services
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate member records and records of outreach activities, firm visits, and member interactions
- Track membership leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in customer service, membership, recruiting, sales, business development, or relationship management
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with a variety of audiences
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Self-motivated with a positive, service-focused attitude
- Willingness to travel throughout Oklahoma and attend evening events
