Description
Atticus is seeking a Major Gifts professional with 5+ years in development and at least 3 years working directly with Major Donors. This is a primarily remote position, but candidates must be located near one of our hubs in Dallas, Atlanta, or Charlotte.

As an Atticus Major Gifts Consultant, you will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our nonprofit clients, helping them steward their current and prospective donors with meaningful engagement opportunities that inspire generosity, deepen commitment and amplify impact.
This frequently involves helping clients understand and successfully engage with Atticus identified prospects as well as “hidden gems” within their existing donor base, informal and formal training on best-practices and strategies, as well as tracking and celebrating our clients’ successes with the overall team.
The role requires a demonstrated success in securing 5 to 7-figure gifts and a sound understanding of how Major and Principal Gift Officers work. Success is measured across the full client lifecycle, from prospect engagement to sustained fruitful outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop Client Relationships
- Identify and aid in overcoming the challenges preventing clients from maximizing success with Atticus prospects through creative problem-solving and personalized engagement strategy.
- Build rapport with leadership and key individuals on client development teams demonstrating Atticus’ value across the entire donor lifecycle, inspiring continued partnership and deeper engagement.
- Proactively seek opportunities to help Atticus clients develop their major donor discipline
Manage Client Accounts
- Lead assigned clients through the Atticus onboarding process
- Meet with assigned clients regularly to obtain updates on their prospecting efforts and find opportunities to provide professional services
- Serve as the voice of the client by relaying observations and feedback that inform future improvements to Atticus tools and profiles.
- Execute the core administrative responsibilities of client management, including tracking hours, documenting meeting notes, scheduling and facilitating recurring check-ins, and leading contract discussions
Major Donor Engagement
- Engage major donors on behalf of Atticus and our clients for strategic partnerships, and/or involvement in Atticus community events
- Work with the Client Success Team to plan and run regular Atticus community events incorporating major donors and Atticus clients
Other assigned duties and responsibilities as required
WORK SCHEDULE
40+ hour standard work week, primarily remote work environment, with attendance at the monthly All Hands’ Meetings.
