ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
One Arizona is a statewide coalition that brings together community-based 501(c)(3) organizations, focused on improving the lives of Arizonans. Our mission is to foster a culture of civic engagement alongside our partners. One Arizona seeks to break down systemic barriers, champion equity and justice, and build a future that is fundamentally better than our present reality, for a stronger, more connected state for generations to come. One Arizona’s coalition includes organizations working across issue areas, including immigrant rights, racial justice, reproductive justice, worker rights, youth empowerment, environmental justice, and economic equity.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a collaborative and energetic Election Protection Organizer who is passionate about safeguarding voting rights and ensuring equitable access to the electoral process for all communities. This is a team-oriented role that works in close partnership with the Program Lead and coalition members to build and sustain a holistic, community-centered Election Protection ecosystem across Arizona (EPAZ).
Coalition partners are responsible for recruiting volunteers within their own communities, while One Arizona provides the centralized infrastructure that ensures those volunteers are trained, supported, and successfully deployed. This includes training coordination, polling place assignment support, materials distribution, and ongoing volunteer engagement. This role does not lead volunteer recruitment. Instead, it serves as a key connection point in the volunteer experience, helping ensure that every volunteer recruited through coalition partners is fully prepared, supported, and connected to a broader statewide Election Protection effort.
Together with the Program Lead, this Organizer will help design and implement a cohesive Election Protection program that is grounded in community needs and responsive to coalition partner realities. The focus is on building a strong, relational, and well-supported volunteer ecosystem across Arizona.

Support coalition members in recruiting and engaging Election Protection (EP) volunteers within their communities
Serve as a key point of contact for volunteers once they are recruited into the EP program
Ensure smooth onboarding into trainings, assignments, and engagement systems, including volunteer sign-ups and polling location placement coordination
Support systems for volunteer tracking, engagement, re-engagement, and communication (including outreach to volunteers as needed)
Provide partners with tools, materials, and coordination support to strengthen volunteer readiness and engagement
Help maintain consistency and quality across EP programming statewide
Training, Materials & Volunteer Deployment
Coordinate and facilitate in-person poll monitor trainings across Arizona (primary focus), with support for virtual trainings as needed
Assist in developing and leading engaging EP trainings for volunteers, members, and community partners
Support the development and sharing of EP educational materials and toolkits using both traditional (print and other formats) and digital communication platforms
Ensure volunteers receive timely materials, resources, and election-related information needed for early voting, Election Day, and post-election activities
Support coordination of volunteer polling place assignments in collaboration with coalition partners and staff
Share EP educational content through appropriate communication channels, including social media, to expand awareness and share accurate election information
Community Engagement, External Relationships & Program Support (Shared Work)
Participate in nonpartisan education and outreach activities to expand awareness of EP work
Coordinate volunteer meet-and-greets, appreciation events, and community engagement activities
Build and maintain relationships with coalition members, community stakeholders, and other key partners in the democracy ecosystem
Engage with county Boards of Elections to support coordination around early voting and Election Day operations
Attend and support community meetings to understand barriers to voter participation and strengthen program responsiveness
Work closely with the Program Lead to design, implement, and continuously improve a holistic, community-centered EP program
Identify gaps in volunteer readiness, engagement, and support systems, and contribute to program improvements
Represent One Arizona in coalition spaces and partner convenings
