The Opportunity:
Northern Illinois Food Bank seeks an extraordinarily motivated candidate to join our team as Development Officer, Corporate & Foundation Giving, supporting the organization’s philanthropic efforts through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and foundation partners. This full-time role focuses on managing an assigned portfolio, developing tailored fundraising strategies, and preparing proposals and stewardship materials, while collaborating across departments to advance the Food Bank’s revenue goals and mission.
This Full-Time position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 100+ corporate, foundation, and organizational partners throughout the full fundraising cycle.
- Develop and implement tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for assigned funders.
- Draft narrative grant proposals, renewal applications, sponsorship packages, and stewardship reports.
- Conduct meetings, presentations, site visits, and tours with funders, representing the Food Bank externally.
- Identify, research, and qualify new institutional prospects to strengthen the pipeline.
- Maintain accurate donor relationship records and activity tracking in Raiser’s Edge.
- Collect supporting documents, data, and attachments needed for proposals and reports, coordinating with internal departments.
- Prepare materials, scheduling, and logistics for donor meetings, calls, and engagement opportunities.
- Participate in community organizations, chambers, and business networks to enhance visibility and cultivate new partnerships.
- Attend and support fundraising events, corporate engagement activities, and special events (including some evenings and weekends).
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Requirements
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of one year of fundraising experience
- Experience in grant writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
- Proficient in MS Office products
- Commitment to understanding and supporting Northern Illinois Food Bank’s mission
