Deputy Director (Full-Time, 32 hours/week)
Bluegrass Council of the Blind – Lexington, KY
The Bluegrass Council of the Blind (BCB) is seeking a motivated, mission-driven nonprofit professional to help expand our impact and bring new ideas to the work we do every day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution, especially in development, grant work, and organizational support.
As Deputy Director, you’ll work closely with leadership and staff to support programs, strengthen funding efforts, and help move our mission forward in meaningful ways.
What You’ll Do
Support development efforts, including grant research, writing, and reporting
Assist with donor engagement and stewardship activities
Help track and measure program outcomes and organizational goals
Contribute to planning and implementation of initiatives and events
Support day-to-day operations across the organization as needed
Collaborate with staff to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3 years of nonprofit experience
Strong writing skills, particularly for grants and professional communication
Experience with project coordination, planning, and tracking outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with donor databases (e.g., eTapestry) is a plus
Event planning experience is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Additional Details
Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position (32 hours/week)
Flexible schedule; hybrid options may be available
Some evening and weekend availability required
Reliable transportation and a good driving record required
Salary range is $42,000-$44,000 annually
Health insurance is not provided
Must pass a background check
