Description
The OHDCC is hiring a Deputy Director to drive caucus operations and serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director.
The OHDCC is strengthening its internal infrastructure to support members and candidates across Ohio. The Deputy Director will ensure systems, programs, and partnerships are executed with discipline and professionalism.
This role is ideal for a high-capacity operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage complex projects while maintaining strong relationships and lines of communication across OHDCC and broader Democratic ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Project Management
- Manage daily operational coordination and internal meeting structures.
- Coordinate meetings and communications with labor leaders, elected officials, candidates, party leaders, and allied organizations.
- Track deadlines, action items, and project deliverables.
- Take ownership of assigned initiatives within defined authority.
Member & Candidate Services
- Serve as a primary point of contact for caucus members and targeted candidates.
- Coordinate resources and support across Ohio’s 99 House districts
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-through.
Training & Program Execution
- Lead logistics for candidate and member trainings, retreats, and workshops.
- Assist in the design and oversee the implementation of district-level voter engagement initiatives (including voter registration, relational organizing, and turnout programs) to expand participation and strengthen Democratic performance in specific districts.
- Manage timelines, materials, and vendor coordination.
- Support rollout of new caucus initiatives.
Vendor & Media Support
- Support RFP processes and vendor coordination in partnership with leadership.
- Assist with paid media operations through scheduling and execution support.
- Ensure vendors meet timelines and expectations.
Fundraising & Leadership Support
- Provide operational support for fundraising efforts in coordination with the Finance Director and Finance Team.
- Assist caucus leadership on assigned projects.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain disciplined project management and reliable follow-through.
- Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for members and candidates.
- Help build durable systems that strengthen the caucus beyond a single election cycle.
- Be available for statewide travel and evening/weekend work as required.
Work Environment
This position operates under a hybrid model. A workspace is provided at the Ohio House Democratic Campaign Committee office within Ohio Democratic Party headquarters. Remote work is permitted; however, in-person attendance will be required for certain meetings, trainings, and strategic sessions with appropriate notice.
Residence of Deputy Director in Central Ohio is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $80,000 – $96,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, and flexible paid time off per the UFCW Local 75 collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements
- Although the position is hybrid, residence in Ohio is required during the term of the position.
- 3–6+ years of Ohio based experience in campaign, political, nonprofit, governmental, or community impact work preferred, but not required.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience working with elected officials, candidates, labor partners, or community organizations preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to operate independently within assigned authority.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
