- Associate Vice President, Schools, Units & Organizational Giving
Description
Boston College seeks an Associate Vice President, Schools, Units, and Organizational Giving to serve as the chief planner for fundraising strategy for academic priorities, student life, mission and ministry, athletics, and institutional partners. This role reflects the scope of BC’s campaign, the complexity of its philanthropy, and the University’s commitment to building consistent, compelling pathways for investment.
Reporting to the Vice President for Development and serving on the University Advancement leadership team, the AVP will shape the cases, concepts, and opportunities that connect BC’s aspirations with donor intent.
The AVP will oversee a talented staff of more than 30 professionals across Schools and Programs, Athletics Development, and Corporate and Foundation Relations. This leader will drive high-level proposal development, elevate transformational gift opportunities, and guide the University’s approach to securing and stewarding significant commitments. As a central liaison to academic and administrative partners, including the Provost, Deans, Athletics Director, and leaders in Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs, the AVP will strengthen alignment, champion ambitious ideas, and cultivate a shared philanthropic vision across campus.
The ideal candidate brings experience navigating complex institutions, stewarding high-impact donors, and empowering high-performing teams. Success will require the ability to translate mission into compelling philanthropic pathways, build consensus in a centralized environment, and lead with the empathy and curiosity that define Jesuit education. For a strategic and collaborative advancement leader, this is an extraordinary platform to shape BC’s next era and influence what the University becomes for generations.
